Student Manual

This is not the FAQ (which relates to domain questions). This is an extensive guidebook that gives you the full grasp of how Hogwarts Web functions. This manual tells you the rules on homework (how much you could miss, etc), house points, secret passageways, and more. If you don't follow the rules, we will remove you without hesitation. It is in your interest to read it …ALL OF IT.
  1. CLASSES
    1. There are 5 Classes. Each class/teacher has a corresponding day of the week in which every two weeks they update their lesson/homework. Your Professors may update their classrooms on other days (for example to put up the grades from an assignment), but they have one day during the week in which the homework for that class is due and they update with a new lesson. You have two weeks to finish the assignment for each class. For example: If for Herbology you were assigned on Monday to explain what a Mandrake is, the assignment is due in two weeks. On the day that assignment is due, a new lesson and homework assignment will be put up on the classroom. Here are the classes and their corresponding days of the Week:

    3. b) Tuesday - Herbology
    4. c) Wednesday - Defense Against the Dark Arts
    5. d) Thursday - Potions
    6. e) Friday - Charms
      7. Homework System
    7. a) LATE HOMEWORKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED. You are absolutely encouraged to hand things in before the due date. Anything handed in past the due date will be ignored. Remember: the due date is not the day you can hand something in, but the latest day you can hand something in. The earlier - the better!
    8. b) If you miss two homeworks for one class, YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE SCHOOL. Missing one homework will have us send you an email - that will be your only warning.
    9. c) If you miss 4 homeworks in total from all your classes, you will be removed from the school.
    10. d) We understand that there are circumstances in which you might not be able to send in your homework. Here is what to do: if you're having problems sending in all your homework, (if you're out of town for example) email Dumbledore. If you're unable to send in homework for a particular subject, email the Professor and let them know why. (1) Keep in mind that if you're out for a week, that doesn't mean you can't do the assignment because you have 2 weeks for each assignment.
    11. e) Homework grades will be posted about a week after the deadline in the classrooms. They will be posted by using your student ID with a grade nearby. Never forget your student ID number!
    12. Extra good homework assignments may earn house points.
      13. Extra Credit
    13. a) Some of your teachers may offer extra credit. It is optional and its one way you can gain house points. Each teacher's extra credit can gain up to 15 house points per student.

  2. HOUSES A. To log into your common room, you need your User Name and password. Both are in the email we first sent you that says the house you belong in. 1. If you ever loose your password, user name, or Student ID # go to "Password & Student ID Help". It will be emailed to you at the email address you signed up in. B. The main point of the common rooms is to socialize with your classmates. But know this, if you harass or annoy anyone, we will expel you. C. Great Hall. This is how you socialize with people from different houses. It is a coming soon feature. When it opens it will be a forum. It is important that you don't share your User Name and Password with anyone else, because it will be the same to log into and post on the forums.
  3. III. HOUSE POINTS A. There are many ways you can gain your house points. Hogwarts has many secrets, and we're not listing them all here (that'll just take the fun out if it!). 1. Dumbledore's Extra Credit. Every two weeks Dumbledore puts up extra credit. It is just like homework, except it is optional. Each Dumbledore extra credit offers you 15-20 house points. 2. As stated before, certain teachers have their own extra credits 3. Oh ....every once and while we'll just have random secret passageways popping up and out of nowhere. For example, one day you might notice "third floor corridor" on the side bar, and the next day it might be gone. So keep on eye out on things. B. What's this "Map" thing? 1. The map is a coming soon feature. 2. It is an image, and a different way to navigate Hogwarts. It doesn't link you to every place in the school as the regular sidebar does, but it has it perks (The main being secret passageways).
